Auction of Promises

what's been offered so far...

Background information...

We will be holding an auction of promises on March 13th 2010 to help raise funds for the children's barn and servery in church and will be inviting both members of the congregation from St Marys and also the wider community so we need some really great “promises” to raise maximum funds!

When and where

The auction of promises takes place on Saturday 13th March at 7.30pm at Comberton Village Hall. Entry is by ticket - £2 and includes a glass of wine/juice.

What's been offered so far...

  1. A slave for a day
  2. 2 tickets to see any performance at the ADC theatre
  3. A bouquet of flowers from Edens flowers
  4. A guided tour of Corpus Christi followed by lunch in their dining room
  5. 3 course Portuguese meal for 6 (not vegetarian)
  6. 2 tickets in the Executive Box to see Cambridge United v Hayes & Yeading + a tour of the ground
  7. One day's DIY assistance
  8. 1 basket of ironing
  9. 3 hours of weeding/tidying the garden
  10. A rich chocolate cake
  11. Victoria Sponge Cake
  12. Lemon Drizzle cake
  13. 6 bottles of Merlot
  14. A ride in a Frazer Nash (To and from a special event or just a drive)
  15. Dog walking (30 sessions 1/2 to 1 hour to suit)

I want to bid but I can’t come on the night

You could ask a friend to bid for you. Alternatively sealed bids can be accepted if you are unable to attend on the night. Please record the following on a piece of paper—your name & phone number, the lot number you wish to bid on and your maximum bid. Then place this in an envelope with the lot number written on the outside. Please make sure these are handed to Mike Booker or Chris Westgarth before the start of the auction. A “proxy” will then bid on your behalf up to your maximum bid.

‘The small print’ - Payment

Payment is preferred by cheque, but cash is also acceptable!

Please pay at the registration desk either during the interval or at the end of the evening.

Please pay for all items you have won before leaving at the end of the evening.

There will also be a quality raffle including vouchers for garden centres, restaurants, etc.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday the 13th.
